Two long wars, one prolonged by Republicans, one LIEd America into, A Republican great recession, “We WANT them infected!”, and a Republican insurrection.

Scott, notice any pattern? ANY pattern at all?

    .

BTW, let’s not forget 40+ years of Trickle Down with consequent ever increasing wealth inequality.

Not that wealth inequality affects anything important like food, clothing, shelter, health, education, crime, and politics. Probably forgot a few.

The “Greatest” adjective was a self-serving label coined by an overly self-important TV news reader that glosses over a lotta really bad domestic activities and policies in a blatant example of cognitive dissonance.

The nostalgia for the 40s and 50s is the result of bad memory, yearning for an America that never actually WAS. Just perception.

Millennials & Gen Z have some unique challenges owed mostly to the ravages of the Reagan revolution. Reagan revolution was a backlash against the activism of the 60’s. Some well deserved ridicule has to go the notion of speaking your mind being violence, and any non-conforming opinion being grounds for excommunication. But we elders need to take our share of the blame for their uphill outlook from here. They need to learn from our mistakes and not enable another backlash like we triggered.

Stop blaming the kids for getting participation trophies. Their parents (boomers like me) came up with the idea, not the kids, who never asked for them.

They made their kids take participation trophies, and now belittle them for it.

I’m 58 and I think Billie Eilish is amazing.

Other than the fact that she’s outspokenly progressive, which is unlikely to be something Winslow would complain about, is there any reason for the cheap shot?

I was born in the last year of the Silent Generation, just at the end of WW II. I’ve been through a lot, too

I really don’t think those ‘two long wars’ count for much when it comes to Carmen’s (or any) generation of Americans suffering, given how most Americans of any age barely thought about them. It’s not like the wars affected America’s standard of living, or led to shortages, etc. I mean, I’m not Americans and don’t live in the U.S., but some of my relatives and friends do and they never seemed too put out by the wars. Occasionally they might comment about how stupid the wars were, but that’s about it.
