   I believe you are may be talking about the same thing. The pilot or trial movie for the series was edited into a two-part episode of the show. In the show, they dropped the reference to mole men.

   Superman and the Mole Men was filmed in a little more than 12 days starting on July 10, 1951 at RKO-Pathe Studios. The feature runs just 58 minutes and originally served as a trial balloon release for the syndicated Adventures of Superman TV series, for which it became the only two-part episode, “The Unknown People”. Some elements of the original film were trimmed when converted for television, including some portions of a lengthy chase scene and all references to “Mole Men”.

   In real life, Annie would be in juvie or worse by now. She’s hacked organizations, blackmailed individuals, run gambling rings, assaulted people, and more. I’m not convinced she is a ‘good’ person even in the context of the comic. I think we sympathize with her because the cartoonist is acting as an unreliable or dishonest narrator. (This is not to say that some of Annie’s targets did not deserve some sort of comeuppance, but Annie routinely takes it to criminal levels.)
