It looks to me like Senator Striped Suit is inviting Senator Bow Tie over for drinks later, and then, you know, just see how things turn out.

That’s the way stage magicians and politicians work. Capture the eye and attention with the hand that’s fluttering the hanky while the other one is doing whatever nefarious thing is going on currently. How much of front line “news” is smokescreen for something else?
