I’m convinced that the obscenely rich don’t have a clue about what “regular people” face. They have servants but they don’t meet servants. And they have neighbors and business relationships with other obscenely rich people.
“The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.”
What about all that PPP loan forgiveness which benefited so many republican elected officials, such as Empty Greene, who had $183,000 forgiven, and she wasn’t even close to the biggest republican loan forgiveness. One republican had $2.3 million forgiven. How many student loans is that?
The difference is that the tax cuts are forward facing and people can make decisions based on the new rules. The loan forgiveness is reverse facing and punishes those those who made the wrong decision in the past.
So where is the Republican plan to pay off the national debt? So far, all the R’s have offered has been default.
Oh, that’s right. We don’t need to know their plans; all we have to do is vote them into power and then they’ll show us. That’s what Mr. McConnell tells us. Kind of like, what was that phrase? “We have to vote for it before we find out what’s in it?” Republicans rightly criticized that phrase at the time; now it’s their mantra.
Kind of like how they support law enforcement, until Fearless Leader gets his hands caught in the cookie jar.
And the implied question in all of this: how stupid do they think we are? This is one example of American exceptionalism we could all do without.
40 years of Reaganomics has transferred 20 trillion dollars of wealth to the richest .01%. It’s socialism for the rich, predatory capitalism for the rest.

Just another case of welfare for the wealthy, like the military-industrial complex and prison industries

Republicans are complalining about people not paying their student debts, but they voted for Trump who never pays what he owes.

I don’t get it. Why didn’t students just lie and cheat lenders like The Feckless Fraud has done for decades? Republicans would respect that.
