How does that inflation thing work. If I’m 30k in debt and 10k is forgiven, not seeing how that turns into a spending spree. I’d still have loan payments. Nothing really changes other than shaving some time off the repayment schedule.

Everyone knows, the only way for debt to dissappear, is cutting taxes. Doh.

Only an idiot would think taking one person’s debt away and giving it to others that didn’t benefit from the loan or ask to be responsible for it. Democrats – The party with such great idea’s they have to be mandated, because they’d never get approval from the general population.

Following the amazing Trumpo and the billions he gave in tax cuts (with no reductions in spending) and all the PPP monies that the Alt-Reich Con-serves rushed to the trough to suck up.

Unfortunately, writing off 10K or 20K from many who have student loans and a lot of accrued interest is not going to help many who owe far more. Back before the corporate democrats (including Joe Biden) and republicans (every single repubba senator) under pressure from the banking and financial lobbyist passed the “Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act”, one could have some student loans discharged along with a lot of other thing as such as credit card debt (which is a another issue which many have to deal with) if they could prove that such debt was an undue hardship, not anymore. So sadly for many, a 20K right-off is a step in the right direction but many will still be under water paying for their education as they simply can not afford to pay the debt off in this economic environment.

Better yet, watch the long-term investment in our country’s future with those students whose predatory loan burden has been reduced.

Republicans are just mad they didn’t think of debt relief for students when they controlled all 3 branches in 2018

Inflation is the result of problems with the supply chain caused by covid, and inflation can largely be traced back to the increase in gas prices. If it the gas costs twice as much to truck produce to your grocery store, the price of that banana is going to reflect that cost. Now, how did that all happen? Well, the oil companies have been subsidized by the federal government for years which made US gas prices low by international standards, but decided this was the a great time to blame the pandemic and jack up prices. So, if Covid caused inflation, what caused Covid?

Trump says that “No one could have seen this coming” referring to the pandemic. Well, someone did. In December 2014, Obama warned the United States:” There may and likely will come a time in which we have both an airborne disease that is deadly,”. They sat up a White House Pandemic response team, which had clinics worldwide, including 44 people in the area of China where Covid 19 originated. The plan was for them to spot the disease, then to send enough people to track it and confine it to the area of origin. They managed the Ebola outbreak with only one American death.

To help the incoming administration be better prepared to fight future pandemics, officials under President Obama prepared a 69-page playbook, which detailed strategies for responding to a potential pandemic. Outgoing Obama officials briefed Trump’s top aides on the potential dangers of a pandemic. But the Trump administration ignored the playbook Instead, spending weeks downplaying the virus, which they knew about in late December 2019, spouting rampant misinformation and contradicting their own medical and scientific advisors, They wasted nearly two months needed to bolster the federal stockpile of critically needed supplies and equipment. By then, it was too late. Trump likes to name things after himself. This one, he truly earned— The Trump Plague.

@Say What Now‽- To me, it isn’t so much about being afraid of an educated population insomuch as millionaires and billionaires having the deep pockets to hire high priced lawyers and attorneys to help fenagle stuff for them. And in their circles, it’s not looked at or scrutinized very hard and deeply because EVERYBODY has money.

The conservatives are going after all levels of education. Patriarchal hierarchy must be kept at all costs. Ban/Burn books, drive away good teachers from the public schools, defund public schools and funnel public funds to private schools.

“Facism Anyone?” by Dr Lawrence Britt:#11. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts. Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

Cartoon Rating: Truth distortion: 93, political theme 86, relatability, 81, partisan incitement factor 78. Grade: B

Lisa, you need to work harder – Biden as a magician is not relatable and connecting the student loans to an Uncle Sam problem will not stir up your base.

Because no one ever got relief from the government for anything before?

Because guarding against inflation means continuing to pay 7% or more on federal student loans?

    Dumb.
