You swallowed the squeaker…

An apparent duplicate would never have the same sound, taste, smell or feel. Something new will not be the same, but can be rewarding.

The poor thing exhaled its last breath… pardon, its last squeak.

One of our Rottweilers hated the squeaker in his toys. He would diligently chew it out and when he extracted it, spit it out a fairly impressive distance. Afterwards he took great care of the toy, just didn’t want it to squeak.

Better than WD-40, by golly! ;-p
