If the GOP has it’s way, kids like these will be carrying AR-15s – which the GOP says are “guaranteed” under the 2nd Amendment – so they can shoot back at the “bad guy with a gun”.
It’s a sad day in America when students are afraid to attend classes….it’s amazing how some put money and power over a human life and still sleep at night…
I’d like to know how “exercising your 2nd Amendment rights” makes it rational/justifiable to walk into Starbucks with 20 of your gun-nut friends dressed/armed for Normandy and utterly traumatizing my children (4 & 6) – and, frankly, ME…
I’ve been watching the penalty phase trial of the Parkland school shooter. He killed 14 students, three adults, and wounded 17 others. The testimony of the survivors, and the impact statements from the victims’ families has been gut wrenching. Sadly schools are no longer the safe places they used to be, and as a former teacher, it makes me very sad. I do think that the sale of assault weapons to the general public should be banned. However, would that stop some deranged person from killing? It might make things less deadly, but with a knife or a regular gun, a lot of damage could still be done.

Thanks to America’s gun fetish, now when I discipline a student, in the back of my mind I have wonder, does this kid have access to fire arms.
And people wonder why we have a teacher shortage.

Kevlar won’t do squat to stop rifle rounds, you need plates in a carrier for that. Kevlar does a great job on handgun type rounds.
