My mom was born 5 years after Vin Scully, and he outlived her (she passed in March).

The absolute best, we were lucky to have him for so long. Rest easy, Vin.

I grew up in Southern California in the ‘70s, and some of my fondest memories were when I’d listen to Dodger games with my late Aunt Julia. She was a big fan of the team, but she loved her some Vin Scully!

From the time I can remember, when Sandy Kofax was pitching, my mom would open the door to my grandparents house, and there was Grandpa Andy, sitting in front of a radio with his bottle of beer, listening to the Dodgers. Vin Scully was the voice of my childhood. I would listen with Grampa and Vin would paint the picture of what was happening so vividly that even as a 6-year-old I could picture the action. Grandpa finally got a black and white TV and then I could actually see what Vin was telling us!! Eventually I would walk off to play, but Vin Scully’s voice would boom on. Rest in Peace, Vin!
