IMPORTANT INFORMATIONFOREIGN LAWS While in a foreign country you are subject to its laws. Penalties for violating local laws, including possession, or trafficking in illegal drugs, can be more severe than in the U.S. for similar offenses and convicted offenders can expect prison sentences and heavy fines.
Who is blaming the victim? Another liberal thinking? The truth is she had drugs for personal use and was not a smuggler but tried to pass through customs inspection in RUSSIA!. There are places in this world where marijuana and its components are illegal, and if one is caught with it, jail sentences may ensue. It is incumbent on the traveler to be aware of local laws before traveling. And, there are places where homosexual behavior and/or gay marriage is not accepted, and may be harshly condemned, so bemoaning how much you miss your same-sex partner may not help your cause there.
