Indeed, when gun owners, Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, all agree that we need regulations to prevent irresponsible, mentally ill, folks from buying lethal weapons, it’s the greedy gunmakers, their lobbyists, and their [not our] senators that resist making the policy changes we all want. Our multimillionaire Congress is broken with an agenda very different than the public’s agenda. Our broken impeachment system no longer protects us from corrupt politicians and instead protects them from our disapproval. How many more will be slaughtered from now until the next election and will that election bring change that benefits us or the gunmakers?
Many individuals shame or stigmatize mental health and they do not even know it. https://discoverymood.com/blog/four-ways-mental-health-commonly-shamed/
Auto Makers have been sued and found liable for dangerous products, so it’s FAR PAST TIME for the Gun Manufacturers to face the same legal responsibility.
Examples: Ford Pinto, Ford Explorer, are just two examples.
It’s hard to believe that the heads of these weapon manufacturers used the tired excuse “guns don’t kill people…” They had an opportunity to enhance the views taken of their business and blew it. Had they instead suggested trigger locks and limited magazine capacities and the like they would have not only looked like caring and responsible businesses, but opened new profit venues for such accessories.
What came first — the chicken or the egg? Movies and Television glamorized guns and the gun industry ramped up production to meet the public desire to own guns. Or did the gun industry purposely push the movies to portray guns in a glamorous way? (As cigarette companies certainly did.)
From Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show to war movies to police stories to “The Matrix” movies — guns are made to seem glamorous and heroic. The gun and entertainment industries have together fed the personal weapons mania.
I’ve often wondered who ever actually gets convicted of perjury. Now that Alex Jones has demonstrably lied to a judge, straight to his face, we’re about to find out if “The devil made me do it” is still a viable defense tactic.
My only question like I’ve been asking, is why on Earth would you need something as powerful as an assault rifle?? Unless you’re in a gun club and go on makeshift military type of war fighting against each and the gun is modified to shoot paint pellets. That’s when it’s a sport. Not to cut down innocent people! And I say TO HECK with these irresponsible and mentally ill people! That’s a cop out! They have enough marbles to go out and kill people! So those that are convicted of killing people with these guns, I say forget about costly and long drawn out trials, give them supplies and their own weapons, and ship their butts overseas to countries that are still fighting! Let them experience getting shot back at! OR, send them to one of these third world country prisons like in the movie “Midnight Express”. After seeing that, these prisons are country clubs!
I’m a gun nut. I own lots of them but no AR or AK style rifles. I just don’t see a need for me to have one. The big problem with gun control is the folks in congress who want to make a change go to far. Instead of outlawing just AR or AKs, they always put other guns in the same catagory and want to outlaw them too. Just stick to the miitary style, large compacity magazine rifles and I think you might get more support.

“The Devil” may indeed have made them do it. All we did was enable them to do it. /s

When will we come up with a system where these mass murders have to pay monetarily for the damage they do?
