If he works near Washington D.C. he should be able to get plenty of Hot Air for his balloon.

Hot air balloons are operated mostly during the fall and winter because the air is more stable, and safer to navigate, and the air is heavier, which in turn saves on propane. So the hot air balloon business, with all of its ups and downs, would be mostly down about now (unless you’re in the southern hemisphere, of course).
