Gas prices are slowly declining (down about .50/gallon here in WI) since their peak. More people are expected to drive/fly than ever this holiday weekend. That suggests that the consumer has accepted said price. Isn’t that how the “free market” works?
FREEDOM: a term which once had significant meaning, with subtle nuances per specific historical contexts, but now just another RWNJ simpleminded dogwhistle, diminished and verging on depletion of relevance and respect, 1984’d by American Christian Dominion nationalist theocrat totalitarians.
I like this ‘toon. The more epic RV trips there are, the more people realize what a foolish strategy it is to use high gas prices as a means to control people’s behavior. Brandon deserves to lose. In just four months, his party will lie in ruins.
Today they would be smuggling women out of a red state ( just like East Berlin). Red states are beginning to pass laws making it illegal for women to leave the state for an abortion. So how are they going to enforce the law? Forbid all women 14-50 from leaving the state?
Actually England was losing a lot of money defending the Colonies (French/Indian War). What was in dispute was not should the colonies pay a tax but what should be taxed . Also the Colonists were some of the freest citizens on earth in 1776.
Not really. There were many who were vastly wealthier, including Charles Carroll of Carrollton, Thomas Jefferson, the Rutledges in South Carolina, the Lee’s in Virginia. These people possessed vast amounts of wealth. Robert Morris of Pennsylvania was another who was wealthier than Franklin.

Reading some comics from 2005/6 complaining about high gas prices. I thought Bush was president then, Republicans must believe it was Biden.

Franklin “invented” electricity^, so he’d be driving a Mustang Mach E, or a Tesla Model X.
Right Mr. Payne?
