The mail-in ballots were the problem, but not for the reason Republicans think. Maryland counts their mail-ins as they are received, and that total is added to the in-person vote immediately after the election, so there is no confusion or commotion. Other states don’t begin to count mail-ins until after the election, with leads to delays and doubt.
I maintain that many in the GOP are quite content with the Jan 6th investigation, and secretly hope that he gets indicted. They huff and puff about how “unfair” it is and “RINOS”, but would like nothing better than to be rid of him. The problem moving forward might be a Trumpian candidate who actually knows things.
Numerous former prosecutors say that the former con-guy-in-chief has no defenses against charges being investigated in Georgia including potential criminal conspiracy. Now it seems like they’ve expanded the probes to include Rudi. Maybe they can share a cell.
Oh, what a lovely picture. I would be happy with him just never being heard from again nor all his enablers nor all the ridiculous elected and appointed leaders we seem to have these days in the government. Oy.
Trump Rages at George Will, ‘Weak and Frail RINO’ Peggy Noonan and Other Right-Leaning Pundits: ‘Foolish (Stupid!) People’
“I listen to all of these foolish (stupid!) people, often living in a bygone era, like the weak and frail RINO, Peggy Noonan, who did much less for Ronald Reagan than she claims, and who actually said bad things about him and his ability to speak, or Rich Lowry, who has destroyed the once wonderful and influential National Review, the pride and joy of the legendary William F. Buckley, or George Will, whose mind is decaying with hatred and envy before our very eyes, or Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes, two people who are finally out of the conversation and of no relevance whatsoever,” Trump said. “Where do these people come from? They have no idea what the MAGA movement is, and even less of an understanding of America First, which is necessary, and even vital, to save our Country.”
I was once a Republican, but after years of not findings one I could vote for changed my registration to Democrat. I still get almost daily emails asking if I’m still a Republican. I say NO but they only read it if I send them money. I did get an email asking if I would vote for Trump in 2024. They said my answer would go to Trump,l so I said “Hell no!” They are very actively raising money for Trump’s next run.
We can only hope. There must be justice for the voters that voted to make that turd a defeated president, and the Capital Police that his goons injured while the police fought for their lives and our freedom.
The right-wing “Federalist Society” is one of the most colossal scams ever perpetrated on the American people. An organization borne of of disgruntled right-wing extremists with Yale law degrees, apparently unhappy with the idea that people of a different class or skin color might enjoy the same privileges as their mommies and daddies who paid for their pricey educations, the Society grooms its fellow malcontents from tony and less-tony law schools, feeding them a contrived “jurisprudence” that just happens to fulfill every whim of its (mostly fossil-fuel oriented) deep-pocket donors. Then it churns them through its think-tanks and legislators until they can pop out untrammeled, like a legal abomination, into the welcoming arms of a Republican-dominated Judiciary Committee for automatic elevation to our federal courts.
Even their name is a crock. These people aren’t Federalists. Federalists — as in James Madison, for example — supported a strong central government in order to unify the country. These pretenders of the “Federalist Society” have, from the 1980’s onward, preached the doctrine of “state’s rights,” because they found that when the federal government did things that benefitted the American people as a whole — such as environmental or workers’ protection, for example — well, it just didn’t sit too well with the people writing their paychecks (That is the very definition of an Anti-Federalist, but I guess that name just didn’t sit right with their donors).

I’d dearly love to see him there. Well, no. I’d dearly love to see an IMAGE of him being there. I have no desire whatsoever to see him in person.

I like the hyperbole of the vote count. That and the overall appearance of the cartoon seems to me to mimic Payne’s absurd offerings, too.

Outside of a few gullible Trumpists, jail for most is highly unlikely.
