So the right thinks a teacher with a handgun, not a long rifle as depicted here, can stop a prepared, armed, armored shooter even the police are afraid of?

Multiple People Shot At Tulsa Medical Building, Some Killed, Police Say

A police captain says multiple people have been shot at a Tulsa medical building on a hospital campus and “some unfortunately were killed.”.

TULSA, Oklahoma (AP) — Multiple people were shot at a Tulsa medical building on a hospital campus Wednesday and “some unfortunately were killed.” a police captain said.

Tulsa police Capt. Richard Meulenberg said the suspect “is down.”

St. Francis Health System locked down its campus Wednesday afternoon because of the situation at the Natalie Medical Building. The Natalie building houses an outpatient surgery center and a breast health center.

Aerial footage from a TV helicopter appeared to show first responders wheeling someone on a stretcher away from the hospital building.

I wonder, if the next gunman were to attack some very tony private school, you know, where the rich people* send their kids, would that result in Immediate and Massive Gun Control?

ok, logistically speaking, this is how it’s gonna work…. Teacher teaching class, has revolver in Safety box (another law regarding owning a gun now), in desk drawer. Active shooter enters class, and AIMS!!! It takes time to get it out of safety box and load it and aim.. Bang, kids and teacher are dead. Now shooter has additional gun and ammo. Congratulations!

Second situation, unless the teacher removes the safety box and takes box with them, it’s a temptation. Angry student that didn’t get the grade he/she wanted, or felt bullied by anyone else has easy access to a weapon… and not all teachers are perfect at remembering to take the box with them… Yea, why bother with a entry from outside when INSIDE is so much faster and cheaper!! who needs to buy a gun when you can retrieve it from teacher’s locker/car/desk drawer/any other location.

What if the Teacher is a open Carry? “Let’s mug the teacher that we really hate because he/she is not cool to let us fly thru this grade and shoot them with their own gun!!, Yea!!”NO!

Tell me what teacher has the lack of compassion to shoot one of their own students! HUM??And tell me you don’t fear that one day, a Teacher wigs out and loses control!??!!

I recently just saw an ad for a “Safe Gun” that shoots paint or rubber bullets using an air cartridge. it’s completely made of plastic and undetectable by Xray… REALLY? and you can’t change the rubber ball to a steel ball bearing Mother of God! for those that argue that the second amendment gives them the right to carry guns, where does it say, “Weapons of mass destruction”, or “a Gun that shoot 40 rounds in a second”? NO WHERE!!!

And just where would the teacher’s gun be kept?

1) If under lock and key, it won’t be readily to hand if/when needed.

2) On — or even in — the teacher’s desk, where it can be easily grabbed by anyone who comes near?

3) Even if the teacher carries it in a holster on their body, how many of them could successfully prevent someone who attacks them without warning from wrestling it away from them

In other words: Having an “armed” teacher in the classroom is more likely to provide a weapon for a would-be attacker than actual defense against an attacker.

Arm teachers? At my school, the teachers were driven to insanity. If they were armed, they would certainly have shot the students.
