Guns have become a consumer item in the US. That was never the intention of the 2nd Amendment. Neither was the intent for guns to become big business or for them to be personal self defense.
The only way to be true to the second Amendment is to take profits out of gun sales and to allow gun sales only for their intended purposes: defense from oppression, defense from foreign threats, hunting. Policing and military fall into the first two categories.
Squiggles thinks its Turd Reich Gravy Seal mall ninja wannabes are the answer to protecting kids? From what? The last few crumbs of Cool Ranch Doritos it just snorted? What a moron. It can’t even protect children from weenie wagger like Boebert’s husband, scum like Matt Gaetz who tried procuring an underaged girl via Venmo, or a Bloated Buttwhistle that wants to “date” his very own daughter.
Would any of y’all trust a POS like Squiggles to even watch your dog, let alone protect your kids? Hell no! That pogue is nothing more than a Turd Reich troll and a poser, and never will be of use to anyone for any damned thing. What a joke.
ironic, how all the loudmouths who go on and on about how more guns are the answer to protecting kids are now turning on the police with guns who, oops, didn’t protect the kids in uvalde…
the tragic scenario in uvalde just provided more proof that law enforcement can have all the guns in the world, but can’t protect anyone against unforeseen circumstances that involve a teenager with a deadly weapon…
Notice how these gun totting cretins like to pretend being matcho men but the armed cowards wait for an hour before entering a school where a guy is killing little kids. So it is obvious than one must look elsewhere than armed texans to defend their children. I think a bare handed woman from anywhere in the world would be braver and fiercer than any of these gun holding texan “males”.
Howcum.. all those gun toting enthusiasts are willing to leave their guns at home when they go to that NRA convention. Seems that would be an ideal place to show off all your weaponry.
That can be arranged, NRA dude. Remember when paranoid coward Wayne LaPierre wanted the NRA to build him a built proof house? A total snake of a hypocrite.
Insidious firearms industry messaging fuels our epidemic of gun violence
For decades, the firearms industry has worked to minimize the truth about firearm violence through highly effective marketing and lobbying. (These are the same tactics used by the alcohol and tobacco industries to direct focus away from the diseases caused by their products.) For the past 30 years, the National Rifle Association — which will hold its annual meeting this weekend less than 280 miles from the town of Uvalde — has alone spent a sizable portion of its budget (now $300 million) on limiting gun legislation.
At the same time, guns have become more lethal due to competition within the firearms market, and gun producers and distributors play a major role in making these increasingly lethal weapons easier to access and own.
The results are literally lethal with more than 250,000 people worldwide dying from firearms every year. In the U.S. 90 percent of the burden of firearm violence falls on civilian populations, and the societal costs have reached more than $150 billion annually. Low- and middle-income countries globally, as well as communities of color in the U.S., suffer disproportionately from gun violence.
“What we need to do is harden schools…Have one door into and out of the school and have…armed police officers at that door.”— Sen. Ted Cruz on how to stop school shootings
“How about a big f***ing moat around the school? How about shrinking the school down so it fits in a safe? How about putting it on the moon?”— Tim Heidecker in response
I think a young woman on Twitter said it best: “If a weapon is so dangerous that a squad of police officers are too afraid to confront a single person wielding it, that weapon should be banned.” ~ Katelyn Burns
I am so sorry about what happened in Texas, I know we will always hear about these incidents but we never hear about ones like in Charleston, West Virginia.
So why are democrats not calling for increased penalties for gun involved crimes? Why are they against the death penalty? Does everyone want to live in a State like California?
“The authorities are not allowed to lie to us in the aftermath of an event like this,” said Carlson. “No matter how pro-law enforcement you are – and we are – there’s only so much B.S. you can take in the face of a tragedy like this.”
That’s all well and good, but Carlson wrapped these points into a commentary whining about how “they” wanted to take your guns away, accusing President Joe Biden, Senate Democrats, and even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of “blam[ing] you because you dare to exercise your constitutional rights” to bear arms.
Never mind trying to figure out how federal politicians are conspiring to get Texas officials to bumble their stories so badly. You’re not supposed to analyze Carlson’s logic. You’re just supposed to be outraged.
