Jeff, ‘heartbroken’ and gut-wrenching’ have been added to the talking points that all Republicans now use in their very sincere public expressions of mourning.
In private, of course, they are pleased to have another opportunity to claim how they are ‘defending freedom’ by making guns more accessible to everyone. And how awful it is for anyone to ‘politicize a tragedy such as this.’
Cruz want all buildings to only have one door that way the shooter won’t be able to get in. So next year your children will not learn anything since it will take half of the day just trying to get into the school. Remember guns don’t kill people too many doors do.
The politicians will stall around, conduct a few hearings, make some speeches, and wait until this blows over, and end up doing nothing. Works every time.
A lot of justified Ted Cruz bashing here but its the voters of Texas that keeping electing him, and Abbott, and Ghomert, and the other crazies. I put the blame on them.
The Qpublicans LOVE the “Cut and Paste” feature on the computers they write their drivel on. Saves them the time of trying to think of something original to say, leaving them more time to count their bribes from the NRA.
I have noticed that the Rethuglicans are now trying to shift the blame for mass shootings to kids being raised in homes without fathers. Meanwhile, they are working overtime to force women to complete pregnancies where many of the babies will be raised in homes without fathers. The logic escapes me.
When the assault weapons ban was in effect from 1994 to 2004, the total number of people who had their 2nd amendment rights violated because of that law was ZERO. If it had stayed in effect until today, the total number would be, that’s right, ZERO. Universal background checks (favored by 88% of Americans in a recent poll) would also violate the rights of zero people.

Ted Cruz used the same statement he used at the last mass murder, republicans don’t care at all about your life, they pocket money from the NRA.

Americans love guns more than children. There’s no getting around it. Until we do something different, it’s the way it’s going to be.

And then the politicians will go to the NRA convention where the attendees have to leave their weapons at home. Even the NRA doesn’t trust gun owners.
