Jack, now you’re going to get a hundred comments from gun violence advocates claiming there are no assault weapons and if you think so, you are not qualified to comment or produce a cartoon on the subject.
And if you think an AR-15 is an assault weapon just because one guy killed 60 people in one incident, well, it also proves that you are a socialistcommunistfascist who doesn’t believe in freedom.
OUCH. And spot on, of course. I sure wish almost all of us really wanted to protect ALL the children. Alas, it seems to be mostly the gun NON-owners who manage to make that leap into adulthood.
The NRA is a non-profit organization that is tax exempt. They do pay off plenty of politicians, however. With our tax money, money that they don’t pay in taxes. What a sweet deal for all concerned, except us, of course.
The police? The US military? Your friends, neighbors, family? Roving gangs of violent killers? The “well-regulated militia”? Space aliens? The Zombie Horde? Mexicans? French-Canadians? Commies? Nazis? The NRA? Democrats? Other Republicans?
Only a fool would fire this weapon for home protection. It will go through the perp, through two walls, through your children, into the next house, and kill them too. Anyone who knows anything about firearms know you use a shotgun. First shot is birdshot. Second shot(if needed) is buckshot. Less apt to do the damage described above.
They say that they are pro-life. PROTECT THAT FETUS! And yet, they do nothing to protect the already born children and adults. Weapons need to be regulated to stop the carnage. What a bunch of hypocrites.
Stephen Colbert looked at a lot of terrible ideas being pushed by Republicans instead of sensible gun control. But the weirdest one came from ex-football star-turned-politician Herschel Walker.
Walker, the Republican candidate for Senate in Georgia who is backed by former President Donald Trump, suggested “a department that can look at young men that’s looking at women, that’s looking at their social media ― what about doing that?”
“Yeah, what about doing that?” Colbert said on Thursday night. “It’s high time to create the Federal Bureau Of Looking At Young Men Who Are Looking At Women Who Are Looking At Social Media.”
Daniel Defense, which made a gun used in the Texas school shooting, received pandemic aid, per The NYT.
The gunmaker received $3.1 million in aid in April 2020, according to the outlet.
The incident at Robb Elementary School on May 24 left 19 children and two adults dead.
The arms manufacturer that made the rifle used in the Texas elementary school shooting received $3.1 million in pandemic aid from the US government through the Paycheck Protection Program, the New York Times reported.
The gunmakers, Daniel Defense, received the emergency small business aid in early April 2020, according to the Times. The company was granted the $3.1 million loan days after the fund opened. It was reportedly used to support 200 employees.
Nineteen children and two adults were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, by an 18-year-old gunman on May 24. The weapon, which the shooter purchased shortly after his 18th birthday, was made by arms manufacturer, Daniel Defense.
When the assault weapons ban was in effect from 1994 to 2004, the total number of people who had their 2nd amendment rights violated because of that law was ZERO. If it had stayed in effect until today, the total number would be, that’s right, ZERO. Universal background checks (favored by 88% of Americans in a recent poll) would also violate the rights of zero people.

The vast majority of gunowners have no idea of how or when to use them. In a defense situation, they are more likely to shoot innocent bystanders.

From who? Who are you going to need to kill?

Just remember that attendees cannot carry a fire arm at the NRA convention. Even the NRA doesn’t trust their members and is afraid of guns.

Most of these “patriots” have to own an assault rifle to prove their manhood. Without that gun, they’re just a bunch of cowards.
