Friend said that shortly after the marriage ceremony her new husband said He was glad that was over as he was tired of trying to be Mr. nice guy all the time. Marriage didn’t last long.

I’m not sure what his side of the story is, but it would appear that he got tired of her (or just started taking her for granted) rather quickly.
Well, the good news is, he’ll have lots of time for reading when he’s served with the divorce papers.

At least he seems to have been listening and responded to what she said. Before long he’ll just be saying, “Yes, dear” whenever he hears her voice.
