I like Earth Day, especially the not using electricity part. If enough people do it, we could hard stop the grid and it will take a week to get it back up. That will teach people to be thankful they live in a time of technology and not in the 12th century

Do BP execs use those to clean up spills? Wouldn’t surprise me.

We know Exxon execs got ‘em for free since they wouldn’t want to dip into their annual federal subsidies that they get after making billions in net profits.

It would be stupendous if Earth Day was also the day that the plug on hyperpartisanship was pulled — turning it off completely, so we could appreciate/celebrate the planet that we live on and collaborate on ways to sustain it for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately, worldwide hyperpartisanship seems to be one of the key factors, that is impeding a prosperous healthy future for our world and preventing us from performing the required basic maintenance.

Can cloth even be recycled? Other than becoming dust rags or grease wipes? Seriously, I’m asking.

Ah yes the one day a year when people act as though they really care and the next day go about their daily lives. The one real cause of global warming is the fact that there are too many humans on the planet. Thanos was actually trying to stop global warming.

Remember how at the First Earth Day, they predicted the world would end in 1980…?

And 52 years later we’re worse off now than then.

Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recycle. I thought to ad “repurpose” but I think “reuse” covers that. I did electronic related work, and I was always amazed and a little disgusted that so much hardware got tossed when it became obsolete or no longer repairable. That’s why I have a garage full of parts and pieces…
