This comment is moronic. There’s not one iota of racism in the cartoon – he’s just paraphrasing one of Will Smith’s characters.

He should have some consequence for assaulting someone. Rich and famous people are still under the law.

Chris chose not to press charges, his choice to let the incident drop.

Exactly, the morons in the audience were as stupid as Will’s slapping of Chris. Show’s how low Hollywood had sunken into to their cesspool. Very few people actually watch any movie nominated for Best Picture. Coda the winner has a box office of 1.1 million and a budget of 10 million. I’m amazed that anyone watches the Oscars today.

I didn’t watch (never do), but in none of the reporting I’ve seen did they give him a standing ovation for slapping Rock.

I gather L.A. is going to push to reinstate Mask Mandates to protect people from Will Smith.

Funny, this was Colbert’s joke last night.

BTW, he got the award, because it was voted on weeks ago. They do not change the award due to something that happens spontaneously the night of the Oscars.

As it is, it’s just a distraction from having a justice (Thomas) that is obviously influenced by his Q cultists lobbying wife, and yet refuses to recuse himself from the January 6th insurrection cases, even though his wife may have been part of those that conspired to overthrow the election with a coup. Allegedly.

I’m surprised no righties have jumped on this inconsequential and extremely minor incident as an example black on black violence.

We are all so quick to judge but how would we react if someone was insulting our spouse in front of hundreds of people in attendance and the dozens watching at home?

What Will did was wrong. He should not have slapped Chris. However, where is the outcry against Chris’s comment? He publicly humiliated a person with a disability. Is it OK because she is an actor’s wife. What would we be saying about Chris’s joke if it had been making fun of someone with a different disability, such as having cancer, being a paraplegic, deaf, blind, etc. Making fun of one’s disability is never OK either. IMHO

Truth is, the Oscars are so fundamentally vacuous that I don’t think anything that happens at them matters anyhow.

The ratings prove, once again, that “go woke, go broke” happens every time. They used to get 40 or 50 mil people watching. It has gone downhill ever since. They are estimating 15 mil this year. No one wants to watch a bunch of pampered as-holes spout off about politics when all they do is memorize other people’s writings and say them back. Buh Bye AA show. We don’t want you anymore.
