We have a number of creative spaces here – our garage is husband’s wood shop, the unfinished half of our basement is additional wood shop, the finished half is craft storage which includes leather hide sections which he uses his leather bench to work on plus a table cutting table for fabric (stored on their bolts) and mat board (stored in large plastic bag, what was intended as a family room holds our main studio space – two 5 ft work tables (back to back so makes a 5X5 foot table together),54 dressers/chests of fabric, needlework and related items, 2 – 6ft bookcases of books, 6 drawer units, and assorted other storage things and, lastly, our living room serves as a loom room from Jan 15 to Dec 15 (I get it as living room for a month for Christmas decorating) for husband’s loom’s, yarns, and supplies and to do his weaving.
He thinks he knows where all of his stuff is. Then he will come to me and say that he cannot find some tool or project. My reply will be “What were you last working on with it?” From his answer I can generally figure out where he left “it” – whether he left it that day or months/years before.

DON’T!!! If you ‘Tidy’ his bench, he’ll spend the next year trying to find all the stuff he Used to know the location of. He will NOT thank you.
