    Indian-head/buffalo nickels were also upcycled into tramp (AKA hobo) art during the Great Depression. There’s also been a recent revival of the form by modern metalworking artisans.

    Speaking of unknown art the gocomics page https://www.gocomics.com/that-is-priceless/2022/04/01?ct=v&cti=2454504 lets us make fun of unknown artists who are actually great artists with many paintings to their credit…just google their names to see what I mean. In our education process we are steered to just a few painters who “they” consider the best and miss out on tons of really cool stuff.

    Check out the Original Hobo Nickel Society (OHNS.org) for everything about tramp-carved nickels during the Great Depression. Some are so amazing…
