That has to be the most hapless dog ever seen in the comics.

Some expressions are hard to translate and difficult to understand across the ages (and eras and epochs and periods).

Except for hot dogs.

Some are more protected than others.

Dogs aren’t protected in China.

Except in China and North Korea where they are abused and eaten.

What kinda dog is that?

not only protected but privileged… and I don’t know why either.

We are took them from wolves to cross-eyed asthmatics, we have an obligation to ensure our actions don’t result in greater suffering for them.

Not to worry, dogs are still evolving. Soon they will morph into furry slugs, since they are carried everywhere and their feet never touch the ground.
