Turns out, I am an introvert who has not minded being in my apartment most of the time. Sure, I go out for walks, though less when it’s frigid, and sure, I do have to go to work, though most of my work is from home these days. I’m not a hermit and don’t hate being around people — just discovered that I’m perfectly content alone for extended periods of time.
When I was in my 20s, I was a junior officer in the Air Force. My squadron mates, our spouses and I would show up for Happy Hour and party until the Officer’s Club closed at 2 AM. Some of the things we did back then are not only politically incorrect today, but outright illegal now.
Now in my 70s, not so much. We’ve sort of evolved into visiting friends and having friends visit. We can still do that safely.
Well thankfully I have my nice home on my almost 3 acres with hundreds of acres of conservation land. I can still get out, go for a nice nature walk, ride the mountain bike, and when it actually f@cking warms up again I’ll plant my garden.
Most people who bought a house before this pandemic chaos started are thanking their personal maker that they bought it BEFORE real estate prices went up 50-100%!!!

Even so, it’s better than that walk up apartment.

You get what you put into it. Satisfaction lightens the load when you leave.

A lot does depend on where you are in life.

I have my “den” and the Mrs. has her inside and outside “She sheds”. We are both introverts and getting a few inches of snow is sno problem.

Our house was warm and we even maintained electricity. I won’t complain, it was a lot better than living out on the street.

Whenever the weather is even close to cooperating, my wife and I open doors and windows to exchange the air in the house. Otherwise we run the fan.
It keeps the air from getting stale like this cartoon.
