We recently had a meteorologist leave a local TV station here to take a job in California. He said the weather here didn’t agree with him.

Weather broadcasting is the only field in which you can make mistakes on a daily basis and STILL keep your job.

The last 2 snow storms here brought more snow each time than the predictions that I saw

Maybe it was just more snow than I wanted

They can always blame incorrect data on their sources. Other guys using other data sources.

It’s good you’re not scraping with your Macy’s card.

With all respect, maybe that is all that catches your attention? I’m a photographer specializing in the natural world. NWS model probably nails 90% of sky cover, wind speed, precipitation and temperature in the hourly model outputs. I can depend on them for things like milky way being visible.

No, it’s the “partly snowy” you are scraping off your car. The “partly cloudy” part is still in the air.

I’d like to be a meteorologist in Seattle. If you state, “The weather is 54 degrees and raining.” you’d be right 75% of the time.

Q: How can you tell if it is raining in Seattle?

A: You can’t see Mt. Rainier.

Q: How can you tell if it about to rain in Seattle?

A: You CAN see Mt. Rainier.

    Summers are nice, though.

Here in Iowa we had a derecho a couple years ago. Sounds like a snack chip from Frito Lay.

Some other comic recently has the guy telling his wife to call the weather guy and “tell him I just shoveled a foot of partly cloudy.”
