The top right panel is interesting. Because a lot of conservatives ARE oriented toward obeying authority. What they do, though, is go Qwackers about whether it’s REAL authority.
With the high price of lumber these days, you’d think Conservatives would notice the beams wedged tightly in their eyes, rather than criticize the motes in others’! (—
Mary Trump has written another book. The Reckoning: Our Nation’s Trauma and Finding a Way to Heal = examines America’s national trauma, rooted in our history but dramatically exacerbated by the impact of current events and the Trump administration’s corrupt and immoral policies. Our failure to acknowledge this trauma, let alone root it out, has allowed it to metastasize. Whether it manifests itself in rising levels of rage and hatred, or hopelessness and apathy, the stress of living in a country we no longer recognize has affected all of us. America is suffering from PTSD—a new leader alone cannot fix us.
I’m surprised it’s not on the conservatives’ book burning list. I’ve started the book. She covers the trauma Black people have lived for 100s of years. (IMO Black people have been so patient.) The country screwed up reconstruction. Let the traitors off way to easily… still hold office, put in the “fix” to keep the whites in power. And the North paid little attention.
Remember how Obama promised that if people made below a certain amount of money they’d get federal financial assistance with paying for their Affordable Care Act premiums?
That was another one of his lies.
In reality, only people whose income was within a designated band would receive federal assistance.
If you fell below this band – like myself – then you would have to seek state assistance.
I was literally told that as an adult white male who was not otherwise receiving state financial assistance, I was at the back of the line and would only get aid if there was enough left after everyone else.
The amount of money I’ve had to pay out has been life-altering to the extent that I’m still living with family.
