Said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: It weirds me out every time Marcy refers to her stepbrothers as “her brothers.” It suggests they grew up together and are close. She met every one of them as adults , half of them AFTER they because step-sibs.

Why is this chick that is barely known all of a sudden asking questions. Marcy seems very naive at times. Why not ask her why she wants to know. We don’t need any potential gold diggers lurking around.

She has a point. But still sounds awkward.

If Marcy is talking with them on a cell phone, doesn’t the phone have caller ID so she knows who she’s talking to?

I’ve got tons and tons of cousins and relatives. We rarely ever see each other. Figures, we are all making major life choices.

But then you have no idea who you were talking to. Just ask “Is this (blank)?” It’s better than finding out later that you were talking to the wrong brother. And if they all sound alike, then they know it’s a problem and won’t be offended.

When I was very young, I was taught that etiquette requires you to ID yourself when calling: id est: “This is (insert name and/or company here). May I speak to …”

Marcy doesn’t get it. The rude ones are the callers that don’t identify themselves over the phone.

My sisters sound alike but I can figure out which one within a short time of conversing. My brothers all sound different though my sisters can’t tell our voices apart. (Neither can other people, but I never have a problem.)

Why does she keep saying “your stepbrother Marcus”? That’s weird. Doubly so, since Marci keeps referring to them as her brothers.

I dare Nicole to repeat that last line in front of Joe’s mom.

I frequently speak to strangers who I happen to have known — generally speaking — for years. They get mad when you don’t know everything about them, so I avoid angering them.

(It helps if you drool a lot while doing it. Let ‘em think I’ve lost my mind — you’ve probably already noticed how well I do it.)

Well, some caller IDs only provide the number and not the name, unless you programmed it into your phone beforehand… And with 12 brothers…
