‘Sister Amy’ likely was told what to say by her master – err – husband.

If adoption were that easy in the US, then why did foreign adoptions become so popular? Adoption laws in the US have made it extremely difficult

Millions of women (usually young) relinquished their “bastard” babies between WWII and 1973. They lived their lives with this deep secret and often had low self-esteem because society named them sluts. The sperm donors were called studs and real men even tho’ they abandoned the frightened young women to handle this catastrophe alone . This is nothing but patriarchy fighting to keep women “in their place.” https://www.thegirlswhowentaway.com

It’s like Barrett and every other anti-women’s choice Conservative is ignorant of the current foster child system filled with children already. Not to mention, Barrett and other Conservatives make it worst by supporting agencies that refused to allow couples to adopt or foster children because of their LGBT or religious identity.

Who does Sister Amy suggest is ready to adopt the 13-year old incest survivor or the rape victim or the seriously sick mom-to-be or the mom abandoned by a ne’er-do-well boy friend? Or is it just convenient to ignore the real victims from this pending abortion decision?

If this current court had it’s way, women would not have the right to say what happens to their bodies, would not be able to vote and would be forced to stay home, barefoot and pregnant!

I know someone who adopted a child about 20 years ago. Months of classes and investigations and proving they could care for a child. Then when they selected a child, The worker tried to talk them out of their selection claiming the child was difficult and would not be a good fit. That child is now grown, responsible, married with a child of their own. A responsible adult. You can read about it, the book is called The Martian Child.

Then there are the people I know who fostered children, most of the fosters in adulthood are in trouble with the law or in some other way troubled much of the time. There are many more of those than Republicans will acknowledge.

Maybe adoption could be an answer to the abortion issue if said adoptions were as easy to do as are the birth of children to parents.

This whole discussion is ignoring the basic premise of the abortion issue – that of males controlling what females do with their bodies – it’s a variation that’s stemmed from the Middle Ages – that of “obeying the master’s will”.

Understand this – to a majority of present-day republicans a woman is little more than chattel.

The G.O.P. has abandoned all pretense of being the “small-government” party – they now want absolute control of every female’s vagina. And, failing to achieve that, they want to “punish” the female by forcing her to endure almost 20 years of involuntary servitude and financial shackling to an unwanted child while imposing absolutely no additional burdens on the male perpetrator of that same child.

Sexist hateful Republicans are totally unrealistic and want the government to track every woman’s pregnancy.

right, so the repubilCONs want to protect the sanity of life for children, however once they are old enough to go to school, when they are mass murdered by a gunman, they could give a shit

The issue isn’t what to do with an unplanned for and unwanted baby. Giving a baby up for adoption solves nothing. The issue is forcing a pregnant woman to carry that pregnancy to term. It’s is the woman’s choice and nobody else’s. And men…your opinion is irrelevant in this matter.

Actually, she and her husband decided… or more accurately, just her husband decided — according to what I understand — that they should… AND DID… adopt some children. I know nothing else about the situation. It was the one thing I liked about her when I did my “internet research” after she was nominated.

Adoption. In the meantime, the woman would be forced to carry it to term and to deliver it. That’s insane.

Another “I’m the Elect of God” out of touch right-wing elitist.

She’s only there to provide cover for the men: “See? A woman voted to abolish abortion, so women were represented in this decision!”

Amy is a catholic and I sure she is spouting what all good catholics are saying. Please spare me your catholic dogma, I was born and raise a catholic so I have heard all the pro life dogma all my 70 years.

I own a small private airplane. A Cessna P337G. When the borders open up again I might be willing to make a few flights in the USA from any red state to California and back.
