Could have been a really fun one Mike – if you hadn’t gotten the proportions all wrong… the lizard is not bigger than a newt compared to the knight. So even without shield and lance he would be able to take care of the newt (fire breathing or not) with his right boot – or that sword that he should also have in there somewhere. Moving some money from the enormous military budget to address more civil matters – especially now that Afghanistan won’t be the sink hole it was, won’t hurt your military capabilities at all.

I’m a little confused. Is China the new Russia or the new Japan? Or, going back further, the new Britain.. France… Germany… ?

Which free stuff would that be? You know, they never have an answer for that.

Let’s see, China spends $252 billion and we spend $735 billion. All that tells me is that we’re not getting our “bang for the buck”. But, the fat cats in the defence industry are loving it.

Here’s an idea: let’s cut military by 10%, and also cut everything else by 10% (actual cuts, not reductions of planned increases).

Get rid of the surplus Flag Officers. We have more Generals with a Army of 1.5 Million than we had with an Army of 5 million.We would save a bundle.

Sad but true. We are being left defenseless.

The latest defense budget included billions for weapons systems the military didn’t even want. Our political class is thoroughly captured by corporate and financial special interests. Corporate welfare writ large, but we can’t seem to find the money to pay for FREE STUFF.
