“he House of Representativesis responsible for the election of the Speaker of the House. This is provided by the United States Constitution, as per Article I, Section 2. The Speaker of the House of Representatives are elected every subsequent time a new House is to convene for the first time.

The Constitution does not provide for any provisions or legislature stating that the Speaker of the House of Representatives needs to be a member of this chamber of Congress in order to be eligible. Essentially, anyone that meets the requirements of eligibility for the office may be considered for nomination.

The requirements are the same as those for any other seat in the House of Representatives. However, those that have shown a skill for leadership will be given extra consideration. The three basic requirements are:

    ● At least twenty-five years old● Citizen of the United States for theprevious seven years● An inhabitant of the State they are to represent at the time of the election." (emphasis mine)

Since the Orange Horror Clown insanely still believes he is the 46th POTUS, wouldn’t he turn up his nose at the SOTHOR? More like Meadows kissing Orange behind, as usual.

Unfortunately, we get the government that we deserve. If we don’t like the gerrymandering or the lack of effort on resolving immigration, climate change, wealth inequity, etc, why then do we settle for incompetent party offerings in our broken primary system and the least objectional candidates in the general election?

Do we actually want the [almost] lowest common denominators — instead of our best and brightest — in our government?

Better than him being president, but I’d prefer he just stayed out of DC.

    Here’s your comforting thought…

Sleep tight, America. Even Adolf Hitler lost his first time when he tried to get elected. And as much as aGolf Twitler tries to emulate the little Austrian paperhanger to the letter… Oh wait, the Rump lost an election, didn’t he? Just like Hitler… And then Hitler got in and took over Germany and royally screwed that pooch now, didn’t he? Uh oh…

Gosh, maybe the nation should get off its collective butt and prosecute the insurrectionist/seditionist/embezzler/grifter then, and post haste! If he’s tried and convicted then he might be banned from running for office ever again that way (that “high crimes and misdemeanors” thing would apply).

But time is running out on some of those charges.

Then again, there are so very many more. And maybe more if even the RNC is getting fed up with him billing them for his legal bills.

He needs to go to trial. Soon. Very soon. Time to get off the stick and get some lawyers who are the very, very hungry and angry pitbull-types on his big fat behind. Like right now!

As Speaker Trump would not have the staff he had at the White House to do his work for him. As Speaker he would be expected to get things done. He’s never in his life had to do that. He was lucky he had Nancy and Chuck to blame his failures on.

What is the word beyond disastrous?

Would an un-elected to congress Speaker of the House of Representatives have a vote on bills and issues?

GOP lawmakers — including an Oath Keeper and ‘Stop the Steal’ attendee — call for ‘decertification’ of Trump’s election loss

The letter, which was signed by 186 GOP lawmakers, pushed for all 50 states to conduct a “forensic audit” like one Arizona recently attempted to uncover evidence of alleged fraud that could be used to remove President Joe Biden from office, according to a copy of the document shared by right-wing Arizona legislator Wendy Rogers.

Mentally ill constantly lying fascist republicans are totally unAmerican.
