    That’s OK, Earl. Mine have called me dude, and also dudesicle (which I also call them), but usually they go with my official title – Granddude.

    I suspect I’m about Earl’s age. The word I remember from the 60’s might have been ‘man’ usually with a preface like ‘hey, man.’ A little before that— since Beatnik slang blended into hippy slang— guy was a ‘cat’ and a girl was a ‘chick.’
