My strongest memory involving leaf piles goes back to my childhood in the 1950s. That was when people still burned their leaves. That was also back before leash laws. Our parents made sure we knew to NEVER jump in a pile of leaves, because there was no telling what the neighborhood dogs may have left behind.
Yeah, your whole day wasted jumping in leaves. But watching the thirtieth playing of " the big pink bunny slipper fuzz ball"( this week), and howling that you are bored!
