It seems to me that “they” — the WHO _and others — are desperately looking to pin this on Chinese labs as a way to not only excuse the fact that they didn’t see it coming sooner, but also as a way to justify not working harder in the future toward trying to discover new diseases as they arise in nature. I.e., to suggest that diseases can now become pandemic only if they are deliberately created in human laboratories.
