It’s called compromise. When someone’s got a serious amount of what I’m calling “blockage”, then you have to deal with ‘em. But I’ll be really surprised if either Sinema or Manchen gets any support AT ALL from the Democrats in the next election cycle. And probably support for a moderate Democrat who’s more willing to deal, in the primaries.
Interestingly enough, in advertising you should NEVER use the word “better”, because that implies a comparison with something else which you must then stand ready to produce proof that it really is better. A fact that no advertiser is willing to do.
You can always claim “best” because that falls under the heading of opinion and requires no factual proof to back it up.
Shorthand – “better” requires substantiation – “best” does not as it is opinion.
The upshoot of it all is that quite often what you’re hearing is NOT what they’re saying.
“He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He puts one of yours in the hospital, you put one of his in the morgue.” Such was the advice of Sean Connelly to Kevin Costner in The Untouchables.
I do not advise violence as depicted in the dialog above, however I do recommend that level of escalation.
It is time for the Democratic Party to do two things: (1) learn the art of consensus and not have every individual hold out to have it his or her way and (2) stop playing softball with the Republicans.
The Democrats need to fight an aggressive, forceful battle against the GOP. They should give no quarter since no quarter is ever given on the other side.
The battle is akin to U. S. vs. terrorism as opposed to the U. S. vs. the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union, like the former GOP was a powerful, but rational advisory. The current GOP, like a terrorist group, has no rationality and no conscience.
I recently wrote the President and told him that as a military officer, I took he same oath to protect and defend the Constitution as he did, and that if our positions were reversed, I would relieve him of command.
If the Biden Administration is to be more than a speed bump on the road to tyranny and dictatorship or the intermission between two Trump terms, it needs to stop acting like kids playing in the sandlot.

They’re fishing for terms to validate a situation that is nowhere near resolved.

I think “Make America Great Again, Again” even tops “Build Back Better” for poorly thought up campaign slogans.

Just cut the ads and do something useful. Costco, Krispy Kreme, and many others don’t advertise but thrive on their accomplishments.
