Basically, if the missing one is cute, White and blond, she gets loads of media coverage. If not, the media could care less. If she is Native American or Black she is pretty much ignored.
Gabby Pepito’s disappearance and likely death seem to have taken the country’s news media by storm. Too bad they don’t seem to care much if a missing woman is Black, Hispanic or (especially) Native American.
Seems like every year or 2 the MSM decides that it simply MUST elevate one missing person case to headline status. No common denominator except that the object of the search is a reasonably attractive white female who probably isn’t a slut or a drug addict.
In the USA, almost 1500 persons are reported missing every day on average. Probably 95% of them turn out to be benign. That leaves about 75 per day that aren’t benign. More than one per day per state. How many of these have you heard of? Is “hearing about it” even a reasonable metric for anything at all?
Is there a study (or more?) that shows how and why women pick losers, abusers, sociopaths and/or psychopaths? Somebody needs to teach these women early in life to be aware of the warning signs. One simple guide as possible indicators at the start of the relationship is to pay attention to how they respond to hospitality service people and animals.
My mother was one of the naive. Churned out six kids. All somehow survived the dysfunctional “family life” and she survived the abuse. Only thing we could conclude as adults is that she was an introvert who led a very sheltered early life. Manipulators without a conscious know intuitively how to play them.
What this is is another woman murdered by a man. That is all I see. The era of device videos and pictures of murdered woman make it a huge story. My heart hurts for the horror of women murdered by men. Color makes no difference to me. The horror of it remains the same.

Am I supposed to feel guilty because I was interested in the Gabby Petito story?
