I think Baldo’s grandaunt is missing the point.

Good idea. That way, when you’re done, you’re a mile away from them AND you have their shoes.

Before you criticize someone, first walk a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticize them, you’ll be a mile away and you’ll have their shoes.
