You can, but then you have to paint it again anyway. And paint stripper is really unpleasant to handle. My dad sanded his house’s kitchen since there were 12 layers including 2 wall paperings. Don’t recommend that either: you’ll be digging paint dust out of your food for the next 4-5 years.
