Too bad I don’t have a big underground catch basin. I would have had enough saved to make it through two summers after this last rain storm (I’m in BC.)
I have a lawn. Part of it is grass. Most of it is “weeds” indigenous to the area (mostly clover). These are plants that have already adapted to the soil and climate of the area. I don’t water it and I rarely add chemicals (mostly lime to keep the moss in check).
When I mow it, it looks just as good as any of my neighbors’ yards.
It is a low-maintenance yard because I am not trying to force things to grow there that don’t want to be there.

I’m an exception – wait, my grass is fake. It looks good enough to fool a rabbit. He looked very confused.

Or it could be that a lot more fertilizer has been spread out.

The grass may be greener on the other side of the fence … but it is just as hard to cut!!!

Usually the grass is greener because of the frequent application of B.S. aka fertilizer.

But, it’s much easier to convince yourself Not to bother mowing when the Weeds look like crap.

But the expression says, “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.” So it’s my neighbor’s water bill that’s higher, not mine.
