Supposedly, (Assuming it’s near level) if you rotate carefully, there will always be a spot that won’t wobble.

It’s usually just one leg that needs to be trimmed.

It’s an old joke, but it still works when done correctly.

Whahapponed is correct for the most part, but will the problem piece of furniture be where you want it to be when you find that spot? I live in a house that is approaching the age of 200. There’s not much level or even here. When I want a table to not wobble, I hot glue a washer of appropriate size to the problem leg. Hot glue is strong enough to hold it in place, but easily pops off if you need to move the piece to another location.

This is funny because it hits home. My wife recently bought a small, wooden chair from a furniture maker at a bargain price.

It was too small for what she wanted it for and it wobbled. She took it back to have him extend the legs. She brought it home and discovered it was still wobbly.

Back it went to be leveled. She returned, satisfied that the problem was fixed until she placed it where she wanted it to go … It still wobbled!

I took a level to our floor and our floor was right on the bubble.

“But it was just fine at the furniture maker’s shop!” she wailed.

Is it you, or is it the chair that is wobbling?…..

Getting ready to start milking cows. Saw the milking stool for the first time and told my uncle that I couldn’t sit on it. The thing only had one leg. He told me I was wrong. “When you sit on it, it has 3 legs, do the math”.

Like the old gag of the guy trimming his mustache. One side is a little longer, then the other. By the time it’s even he looks like Hitler.

Three possible replies for the husband:

“Don’t worry, dear, it’ll stop wobbling the minute I smash what’s left of it against the wall.”

“At this point I’d throw it in the fireplace, but you’d probably tell me the ashes are wobbling too.”

    “Sit on it!”
