Well, it was my sister’s dog. And he’s one of my favorite people. I invited him to sleep next to me.

Sure.. back in the day there were some “ladies” that could easily be classified as dogs.. in the light of day.. but at the time and with a liberal dash of alcohol. Still makes me shudder.

Ummm… I think you should have used the past participle “awakened”; not “awoken”. I think I know why you might have chosen the “woke” form, owing to this day and age; but to paraphrase “The Princess Bride”, I don’t think that word means what everyone thinks it means!
