Yep, another “screw you” from Gracie.
Gracie knows Tia Carmen is a big gossip. If she tells Tia Carmen, she tells half the town, and somebody else will write the book first.
She’s writing about Tia Carmen. Gracie won’t reveal it for fear it might change her behavior.

That reminds me of a very similar conversation with a friend of mine.
Me: “I’m writing a book.”
Her: “What’s it about?”
Me: “It’s a mystery.” (As in, the book was a crime/mystery story.)
Her: “The story is a mystery, or the genre itself is still a mystery to you?”
If she leaves a chapter out, it will be.
