From what I’ve read of things falling off, breaking away from, or just jettisoned by space craft (orbital or otherwise), it’s shouldn’t be long before Earth has a set of Saturn-like debris rings.
Is this it? The West is in flames, the country is in a drought, the virus is roaring back, legislators are working to prevent people from voting, school boards are rewriting history, and Stahler worries about traffic in space.
Every leap in Technology is met with distain and mocking from the Handwringers. Charles Lindbergh’s flight would be views as a waste by some of these Cartoonist today. I’m all for it just keep building, launching and recovering in America, great jobs for lot’s of very smart people.
It will all be cheers, applause, and celebrations until the first civilian dies in one of the billionaire’s expensive toys. Then the cheers will turn into accusations, investigations, and law suits as man spaceflight goes into a longer dark age than the space shuttle disasters caused.

Took me three tries. But okay: I guess he’s lampooning the two recent billionaire-express flights. Okay.

Don’t forget all the space junk we’re leaving behind. (assuming all that other stuff are planets & stars).

I’ve seen this cartoon in a lot of variants since the early sixties. Is Stahler trying to make a new point?

He left off the little internet satellites that are interfering with space viewing and might eventually cause a bigger problem.
