A reminder that it’s still summer.

80F in most places would be considered a very comfortable but there is something to be said about how refreshing it is when one walks into a place that has the AC set below 80F after being outside where it is 94F with high humidity; a typical day from June to September in Central Florida as well as many other places (if not even hotter, ask the Olympic athletes how the Tokyo weather has been?!?!?).

I leave my ac around 76 degrees in summer. I know the DOE recommends 78, but that is too warm for me. I can live w/76 and ceiling fans. I live in Middle TN, and it’s really humid here.

    Aircon at 80°F?

I hate saying this but that’s the low range of comfortable.

Heart was pig-sweating while Addy hadn’t even broken a sweat? Must’ve gotten that from her father (along with that dumb jacket).

Omg are you guys serious? 80 degrees before you turn the a/c on? Are you all on blood thinners or something? I wouldn’t be able to function if it was 80 in my house!

Guess it’s all what you’re used to. In the humidity of Kentucky, 73-74 is where my thermostat stays most of the time in the summer. I can’t get a breeze through my apartment at all, and get the morning sun; even with tinted windows I sometimes have to use the a/c before the end of April.

But, to each their own! Glad I don’t live with you folks who like it hot.

The thermostat for my AC is set at 79F., Our temperature outside is supposed to be lower than that today, but the AC ran just a few minutes ago.

never had ac. Put a fan in the window and cool the house with the overnight air, shut the windows at daybreak. You’d be surprised.

I usually set mine at 74F, but right now the temp outside is 62F so no need to run it. Upstate NY — awesome summers, fearsome winters. I try to keep that in mind while I’m shoveling 3’ of snow from my driveway :)
