Q=publicans said the problems in Afghanistan were all Biden’s fault and Trump would have done a better job.

Biden announced that the US would be out of Afghanistan by Sep. 11. The Q-publicans said that was taking too long and that Trump would have had us out much sooner.

We’re pulling out much ahead of schedule and the Q-publicans are complaining that we are abandoning out “allies”.

Trump never had allies, accept for maybe Putin, Xi or Kim.

Searching for a similar Ramirez cartoon from February 2020 when Trump made the agreement with the Taliban to withdraw but, I’ll be dipped, I can’t find one. Just cartoons portraying Bernie as a communist and asserting that Joe Biden can’t win an election. So weird…

I see 3 locks on the door, the USA one is open and ready to be removed. From news reports we will be gone by August 31,2021. Who knows who will open the door, all I know it’s high time we are leaving. We accomplished our objective but got caught in the CessPool of complex cultural, religious, and ethnic in fighting that has been going on for decades. I have no doubts that the door will open again, but we should no longer be the police force for that region, let them solve there own problems, it’s evident they don’t want us there anyway. Let’s get our military back to doing what they where intended for, protecting the USA and our loyal allies who appreciate our presence.

Funny how conservatives were for Bush’s war, then for Trump’s call to end it, and now all aghast at Biden’s withdrawal.

With the “non-Muslim invaders” gone, Afghanistan will revert to being a bunch of feuding, petty warlords. And BTW, though al Qaeda did have training facilities in Afghanistan, they aren’t Taliban. The 9/11 crew were almost all Saudi and got the critical part of their training at American flying schools.

So basically, the American terrorists are being replaced by the Taliban terrorist. It’s a lose, lose situation.

Americans are WAY more likely to be victims of domestic terrorism, yet you want to pump all the money into killing foreigners.

I don’t think Mike is being critical here or placing blame. Rather he’s just illustrating a fact. President Biden is doing the right thing on following up on Trump’s decision to get out Afghanistan. What happens going forward will be the responsibility of the Afghan people and is not something that can be layed at the feet of any American president, especially Biden. This is one of the very few issues on which I can agree with him and fully support.

Ok I’m not being unpatriotic just an objective observer of America’s recent military past, I’m referring to post Korean war, what other outcome were you realistically expecting?

Even when his message is screwy, at least Ramirez’s cartoons are works of art. In this instance, I wonder what his suggestion would be for an alternative action by our President?

Like a whole lot of other USA interventions, started, but then left in a disaster after the home side recognised the appalling rate of casualties and cost to taxpayer. The only beneficiaries of this war, like all others before it, are the weapons manufacturers and arms dealers. And yet, I’ll just bet the USA hasn’t learned its lesson yet. Neither will the coalition of the stupid, who blindly acquiesce to the USA demand for help have learned to keep out of nations so far away, they really pose no threat. Not that they need the help, they just like to spread the blame around. Nor have we learned yet, that much of what we call terrorism is home grown encouraged and educated by fools in far flung places via the internet.
