What about all the mask pollution?

Well, you couldn’t pay me to attend the Olympics and I’ve been jabbed. But best of luck to those wanting to attend.

No fans. Or sponsors (I think). (therefor) Not many vendors. And the athletes (and the coaches??) are being tested daily and isolated asap when they test positive. And some ARE testing positive.

I don’t watch the Olympics on TV. Heck, I barely watch TV, unless The Ohio State Buckeyes are playing.

You want to watch pure sports? No money, just the love of the game. And it is free. No TV required.

Kids. At least we used to play. Sand lot baseball, street football. Uniforms, we did not have no stinking uniforms, the cloths stunk to high heaven.

Game time was irregular. But usually after school or weekends or summer.

Those were the days my friends, those were the days.

And yet, they persisted.

Could be worse if the Olympic games were been held in one of the Republican states where masks, social distancing & vaccinations are not considered necessary.

Should have cut their losses and canceled.

Nearly all covid cases and deaths in the U.S. are unvaccinated folk. Darwin is rolling over in his grave.

Perhaps those who think they are immune to reality — and do not respond to reason — will learn that their irrational, walled-in, alt-reality is not impervious before they all self-destruct as reality seeps in.

I’m confused; are lockdowns to prevent Covid-19 now beneficial in Lisa’s perspective?

Given that the olympic competition bring out the best.. there is a good chance that the COVID virus will mutate to an olympic quality variety as well. Go COVID!

The meaninglessness of Lisa-the-Shill’s political cartoon becomes more and more apparent as the intelligence, education, experience, and reason of a reader increase. In other words, this cartoon is utterly meaningless insofar as politics and economics are concerned.

How is it a rich and educated country like Japan only has about 15% of it’s population vaccinated.

Sha’Carri Richardson tested positive for THC so they left her off the team. Someday she may be able to say that it saved her live. The Olympics are a perfect example of misguided intentions. Why is it so urgent to stage the Olympics at a time like this? On one hand they set drug free standards. On the other hand they’re not worried about the spread of Covid. Which is a bigger risk…. a non performance enhancing substance (THC) or Covid?

The IOCC follows testing protocol. If anyone on or with a team registers positive for Covid following a test, contact tracing must be instantly implemented. This makes it highly probable that one/more than one/everyone who daily physically interacts with that athlete/support staff (trainer, etc.)/coach may also test positive, and all who do test positive must undergo minimum ten day quarantine. Which could result in individuals/teams from being free of quarantine on scheduled competition days.

This issue is already impacting pro sports in America re individuals who refuse to vaccinate. As the delta — and most recently Gamma — variants continue to increase in outbreak rates, there could be significant impact in pro and college both as colder weather returns during the fall football season and on into winter sports.

Pro and prospective pro athletes who refuse to vaccinate may not be placed on rosters by coaches mindful of the possible negative impacts upon entire teams by those individual choices.
