I don’t have to look for my phone either. But with all the robocalls i let the machine answer. If it’s important or someone i know they leave a message. I’ll call them back.

My mom has an old fashioned phone. Its ring scares the heck out of me. I don’t think it bugged me when I was a kid.

Pluggers also know what a rotary dial phone is and how to work it. And remember why the line “We’re the phone company. We don’t care. We don’t have to” came about.

When I first retired, I bought “Grammy Mendenhall’s” place. There was a ringer on the wall in the bedroom that would wake the dead.

Pluggers with a party line were hackers, long before the internet

way back in pre-cell days I would occasionally have to look for the phone. but it was much easier as I just followed its cord. usually to my daughter’s room

Real pluggers remember the hand crank phones and the distinctive ring your phone had (two longs and a short on ours).. And, knew that there were no secrets among all those on your party line.

Right. However, untangling the cord could take hours sometimes. :-)

Too many people are shocked when I say I don’t text and you can’t text to my landline. I’ve survived 70 years without it, don’t see any point in doing it now. I do have a cell for when I need it, which is very rare.

Thirty odd years ago the phrase “I can’t find my phone” had never been uttered. Ours was attached to the wall in the kitchen.

Yep, it was always hanging on the wall.
