Or, you COULD wear a mask, touch little, wash often. (The mask is mostly to remind you not to touch your face… but also to help, slightly, protect you and your group from each other).
The last two colds I had lasted around 4 days each. I started taking zinc as soon as I thought I was coming down with one. It is apocryphal, but seemed to work for me.
Instead of stocking up on cold medications I’ve stocked up on beer and bar-b-que sauce for the neighborhood cookout. The increased costs of food for this 4th of July is nothing to sneeze at however.
A recent survey showed common colds rising wherever mask mandates have been cancelled. That was predicted early on from the reduced events of flu and nasal infections. Can’t get clearer than that, so I will continue with the mask for the foreseeable future.

During the Trump Virus scare, I went 15 months without a case of “sniffles” – the Japanese seem to have the right idea about face coverings.

They are called social gatherings because of all the illnesses you can gather there.

I’m now in the habit of washing my hands as soon as I get in the door. It’s not a bad habit to keep.
I have a stockpile of masks that I will wear if I get a cold. As often as I get colds and as long as they last, I probably have a lifetime supply.
