Donnie shut down his website yesterday. Even his loyal followers didn’t want to listen to him anymore, though I must say he went out with a bang with that delusional rambling about being reinstated this summer.

Eldest Daughter, the Republican, was ranting about how upset my dad, her grandfather, would have been over the grief the Democrats were giving trump. I reminded her my dad had been at Pearl Harbor, and had been injured pulling other men to safety. “He wouldn’t have taken kindly to being called a baby and a loser. And I don’t think your son would like it either.”

    “Harrumph.”

No, no, no, Herr Trump never said anything like that. At least not on Jan. 6th.

Hopefully, our grandchildren will save the United States from the hatred/divisiveness of today’s “Republican” party (and its fear of a future where special privileges based on race/religion will merely be an extremist minority view).

Tucker Carlson Opens Memorial Day Show By Denigrating the U.S. Military“Our military at times does not seem interested in protecting the country,” Carlson noted, on a weekend when public personalities and elected officials were under the microscope for messaging before and during the holiday weekend.

That Fox Tucker has never been in the military, he is a lying, highly opinionated rich boy who never served or worked a real job. He has never been held accountable for his countless covid lies that no doubt killed thousands of Americans. 500 unvaccinated people a day are still dying from the covid the anti public health right wing tried to minimize.

VP Harris actually had made a number of statements about Memorial Day and our troops that day, but in this particular one she didn’t, and the Fox talking head focused on that one as if Kamala never said anything on the subject. Interestingly, this selfsame talking head also didn’t say anything for our troops. As such, it illustrates why watching Fox is bad for you the same way eating out of the toilet is bad for you.

Nope, Trump was most likely to make statements to make the holiday more about him…

As a multigenerational Navy family member, who just so happens to be a tree hugging, Volvo driving, Labrador-mix (adopted rescue) mom, liberal (1980’s model, ha ha ha) I do believe that Memorial Day should be a “thoughtful” holiday, as opposed to sales-filled blowout commercialized freak-fest. I lost ancestors on both sides, great… uncles from the north and their cousins from Tennessee during the Civil War, which is the origin of this particular holiday, and have family who participated in other conflicts in the ensuing decades.

This should be a solemn day for Americans to contemplate what our Nation stands for, and what generations of young men and women have put their lives on the line to protect. This year in particular is a year that that very democracy has come close to breaking, not from an outside enemy threat, but from it he very members of government that swore to protect it. Contemplate on that while you grill your burgers and franks.

I will be working the Virginia Gubernatorial primary polls from 5:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. next Tuesday to demonstrate my civic duty. (My poor dogs will have to wait. I will have strategically placed puppy pads and puzzle balls loaded with kibble and treats and their water bowels with plenty of water. All rooms with doors will be closed, and the carpeted living room blocked off.)

He might well like people who weren’t captured, particularly those whose POS fathers concocted false medical reasons (through bribery and extortion) to avoid conscription altogether, the ultimate way to avoid capture.
