Here’s a few thoughts – we need to stop purchases in less restrictive states that allow people to transport and resell firearms by making the fines stronger and the permanent loss of a dealers license mandatory. We need to go after those who sell and distribute firearms like the opiate and synthetic opiate businesses need policing – both abusive, illicit industries are literally merchants of death. It’s money that makes those two worlds go ’round.
Is there like, a quota or some tally these idiots have to meet? And since the lockdown, their numbers were reduced so much they’re now going overtime? Why? Just… why?
Texas joins the other out-of-control states: “So far this year, five states — Iowa, Tennessee, Montana, Utah and Wyoming — have passed legislation allowing some form of permitless carry. The bills are an indication of how conservative lawmakers and gun lobbyists are making inroads at expanding gun rights at the state level, even as lawmakers in Washington debate more gun restrictions.” – https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/06/politics/permitless-carry-guns-texas/index.html
Americans were more trusting and respectful of differences at one time — but division to is the favored political tactic today …
Gun violence killed nearly 20,000 Americans last year, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that’s the most in at least two decades. It gets worse: More than 24,000 people committed suicide by gun.
Not coincidentally, bad times like 2020 can be good times for the gun industry. In a conference call last year with analysts, Smith & Wesson Brands Inc. SWBI, +0.52% CEO Mark Peter Smith estimated that 40% of gun sales were coming from first-time buyers, an estimate he called conservative and “double the national average” in recent years.

Republicans and the NRA cheer the sales of guns.
Americans bought guns in record numbers in 2020 during a year of unrest — and the surge is continuing.
