I guess religions trump the fact that you’re all equally Semitic peoples (except for exogamy)?

Likud founder Menachem Begin used to call the West Bank by its biblical names, Judea and Samaria, but for some strange reason he never called Gaza by its biblical name, Philistia. Go figure.

Maybe the next apex species will be more peaceful than homosapians.

Some in the media do distort things “for effect”. Some years ago I saw a picture which appeared in the news (taken from an upper story window) showing an Israeli soldier holding a rifle pointed at a group of Arab women. The person who took the picture was outraged at the way it was cropped, so he got the original picture published, which showed an Arab man with a rifle crouched down behind the women.

Oh how can you tell the Israelis from the Palestinians?

The Israelis have body armor and military weapons. The Palestinians are dressed in cotton with sandals, except the kids, they’re barefoot.

Forty years ago, I got to know a retired member of the UN diplomatic corps. He’d been in Palestine in the early 1950’s. Relative to the prospect for peace between the Arabs and Israelis, he said “ the only way to find peace is to give your enemy no further reason to hate you.” Israel will never know peace while on this path.

Well, the IDF uniforms are a really big help.

Anyone with a gun who is not in uniform….pretty good bet it’s a Hamas terrorist.

I can imagine some Israeli troops might actually care. But I can’t imagine that they’d be the ones sent there to deal with the “terrorists”.

Sigh.
